Picture taken on the 10th March 2007 near Corredor Sanctuary, Llinars del Vallés, Barcelona, on Quercus suber bark.
It is a very rare lichen. It has only been mentioned by Dr. Gomez Bolea from Alt Camp and Montseny area and by Drs. Barreno & Fos at Ribatejo , Portugal. I have found it with Parmelia hypoleucina as in Portugal, according to S. Fos these.
It seems a temperate lichen folowing Clauzade-Ozenda.
Corticolous, small lichen, erect (4-6 cms), cylindrical filamentous thallus, very divergent basal branches, dense, grey-green, growing in tuft, almost no fibrils, scarce small papillae, granulous soralia.
It is easy to distinguish by the red spots on the thallus.
