Descripción: Picture taken on the 9th April 2007, at "Gorges du Segre" near Bains de Llo, Llo, Oriental Pyrenees, France, on schists, siliceous rock, vertical, 90 º, damp, shady place, West oriented, 1.380 m. altitude.

Very wide distribution in Europe. It prefers upland areas but it arrives the Mediterranean border.

Saxicolous, siliceous, crustose lichem, thallus leaden grey with certain yellow tinge in places, thick, warty, fissurate-areolate, relatively large. Apothecia urceolate, with distinctive thalline margin, black disc with grey pruina.

C+ red, KC+ red

It was used to obtain blue pigments.
