Peltigera britannica new for the Oriental Pyrenees

Image Details

Descripción: Picture taken on the third June 2007 at Querigut, Ariège, France, on mossy substratum, acidic soil, under Fagus sylvatica, very damp and humid place, 1.380 m. altitude.

Rare, not mentioned in the Biodiversity Base of Catalonia and in the Oriental Pyrenees department. For a long time, it has been confused with Peltigera leucophlebia.

Foliose thallus, large lobes, bright green when wet, on acidic sites, large, up 10 cm, cephalodia in upper surface, cephalodia wart-like, thick (it differs from the more thin ones in P. leucophebia), cephalodia easily removed, leaving white scars on the surface.

Molt bona

Felicitats per la nova espècie pels Pirineus Orientals. La tasca seriosa i sistemàtica (i el gran esforç) continua donant els seus fruits.
