Descripción: | Picture taken on the 1st July 2007 under Aiguablava Parador,Girona, Catalonia, on siliceous rock, vertical position, shady place, 15 m. altitude. A very common lichen around Catalonia, thermophilous, frequent near the sea. Thallus greeneish grey to almost black, areolate, cracked, with a black prothallus. Apothecia numerous, 0,5 mm, matt, thin thalline margin. C. atomarioides differs in the small apothecia and it grows mainly on slate roofs. C. nigroclavata is very common but it is always epiphytal.
